Fernando “fer” Alvarenga has been released from his contract with the Immortals Gaming Club (IGC), MIBR‘s parent company, Globo Esporte has confirmed. A move to BOOM is seemingly on the horizon for the 29-year-old, who has been seen scrimming with the Brazilian team, replacing João “felps” Vasconcellos.
fer‘s future has been up in the air since mid-September, when he, Epitacio “TACO” de Melo and coach Ricardo “dead” Sinigaglia were removed from MIBR by the IGC management following a disastrous run of results. He spent over two years competing under the iconic tag, during which the team won only one title, at the ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 Finals.
felps has been strongly linked with the new project that dead has been working on since his departure from MIBR. According to a report from DBLTAP, the team will also include TACO and two young talents, Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer and Bruno “latto” Rebelatto.
BOOM, who have won the last eight tournaments that they have attended in South America, will wrap up the year at the FlowFiReLEAGUE 2020 Global Finals, which will be held in Buenos Aires on December 13. Heretics are the only other team so far confirmed for the $70,000 tournament, which will also feature two teams coming out of the FlowFiReLEAGUE Regional Finals.
